SWEETENERS

Sweeteners are substances used to add sweetness to food and drinks. They include natural options like sugar, honey, and maple syrup, as well as artificial or low-calorie alternatives like stevia and aspartame. Sweeteners enhance flavor and are widely used in cooking, baking, and beverages

1- Sugarcane

Sugarcane is a tall, tropical grass grown mainly for its sweet juice, which is processed into sugar. It is a key crop in many countries and is used to produce sugar, molasses, and biofuels. Sugarcane is also valued for its role in agriculture and the economy

2- Sugar beet

Sugar beet is a root crop grown in cooler climates and is another major source of sugar. The beet’s thick root contains sugar that is extracted and processed into white sugar. It plays an important role in the sugar industry alongside sugarcane

3- Types of sugar

Sugar comes in different types based on how it's processed and used:

- White Sugar: Refined and commonly used in households and baking.

- Brown Sugar: Contains molasses, giving it a darker color and richer flavor.

- Raw Sugar: Less processed, with a light brown color and coarse texture.

- Powdered (Icing) Sugar: Finely ground white sugar, used for frosting and desserts.

- Liquid Sugar: Sugar dissolved in water, often used in beverages and food processing.
